Countdown to the Grand Départ

Roughly a 2 minute read from Alex

10 Apr 2014

Unless you've been living on the moon for the past few months (or you're based south of Milton Keynes) you can't have failed to notice that the world's gaze is going to be firmly focussed on our great county of Yorkshire this Summer as we play host to the start of the 2014 Tour De France.

Having quite a few keen cyclists in the office (although some just do it purely for the lycra) this event holds even extra significance, so when the opportunity arose to get involved in a project designed to raise awareness around the Tour, we were obviously eager to get involved!

Our good friend (and neighbour) Omni Pictures was originally approached by Leeds City Council with the brief to shoot and edit a series of feel-good videos promoting the region that could then form the centrepiece of a digital clock, counting down to the start of the Tour. This piece would then be loaded up on screens in lobbies, receptions and who knows, maybe even bathrooms (we need to check on that one!) across the region to generate excitement around the event and give people a little warm fuzzy feeling in their stomachs.

Tasked with taking care of the digital side of things, we got to work and, before you could say 'Lance Armstrong you naughty little scallywag!' unveiled the following piece. We hope it inspires you to show your support this Summer too - we'll see you there!
