Sh! awards reveal great local talent

I've just got back from getting involved in the annual 2008 Sh! awards held by Brahm, where I had the pleasure of meeting some of the regions most talented graduates, seeing some fantastic work and and eating a whole lot of biscuits!

The awards themselves are held in memory of Stuart Hocknell, a talented Brahm designer who tragically died from meningitis at the age of just 28. They're designed to help raise the profile of the regions gifted young designers whilst also helping to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation. This year the awards were expanded to cover advertising, along with the traditional design and then digital categories, which I had the pleasure of getting involved in.

It was nice to see that this years crop of students hadn`t been wasting their loans completely on booze and drugs but instead channelling it wisely on getting all manner of quality print work done and the odd fancy Macbook too. The entries we're all of a very high standard and spanned quite a range of digital disciplines and styles, which made for a tough time when it came to picking the best ones. I'm afraid there'll be no clues here though - you'll have to turn up to awards to find out who made the grade!
