This week sees us welcome a new face to the Engage marketing team, Mr Alex Sim!
Hailing from Northern Ireland, he brings with him an enthralling life story (which he'll no doubt tell you one day!) and of course, plenty of 'craic'. He joins us with a wealth of experience in the Sports and Hospitality sectors, specialising in social content development and audience engagement.
In true Engage style we thought best to ask him a couple of questions to break the ice, so from one Alex to another here's a bit more about Mr Sim...
Alex W: What attracted you to the role and Engage?
Alex S: First and foremost I was really attracted to the idea of working within an agency. Having been more isolated in previous roles, the chance to collaborate with like-minded people was a huge driving factor. I’d come across Engage several times and always been impressed not only by their work, but also the unique culture surrounding the company.
Alex W: With your existing strong background in social media, which wider areas of Digital Marketing are you most looking forward to getting to grips with?
Alex S: I’m looking forward to expanding my knowledge in both SEO and PPC, as well as advanced e-marketing techniques.
Alex W: Are there any of our accounts that you're particularly looking forward to working on?
Alex S: Being a Mojo regular for the past 5 years it’s difficult to look past them! The brand oozes cool and I’m very much looking forward to creating some great content with them.
Alex W. What's something that a lot of people don't know about you?
Alex S: I used to be a professional badminton player and competed at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. You didn’t know that because I didn’t win!
Alex W: A man storms into the office brandishing a machine gun, screaming 'Who the f*ck is Alex?!' Do you (a) Point at me or (b) Point at yourself?
Alex S: (a) As it’s the only way I’d get to be called Alex in the office.
