Senior Project Manager

The role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join us at a really exciting time of growth and expansion.

You’ll be someone who can confidently and independently project manage the agency’s largest website projects and activation campaigns.

Our Delivery team at Engage work across multiple departments and projects, which means your days will be varied and fast paced.

Due to the size of the agency and delivery team, you’ll be involved from project inception through to completion and beyond. It’s important that you are someone who is flexible and happy to jump in to get the job done - this could be anything from leading a discovery workshop, supporting content entry, or testing a game.

Confidence and communication skills are vital, as you will be the day to day contact for your clients and internal team. You should be someone who likes collaborating with others and can clearly articulate your ideas and feedback.

Competencies

Experience

We welcome applicants with 5+ years working in a digital agency or with direct experience of delivering large website projects. You’ll need to hit the ground running, so experience and established ways of working will be necessary.

You should have a firm understanding of website delivery and feel confident facilitating the entire process, from inception, discovery and definition, through to design, development and launch. It will be your responsibility to drive projects forward, leading our in-house team of experts throughout the process.

Communication

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, articulating ideas and processes with ease should be one of your strongest skills. Your writing style should be clear and concise, and you should be confident using both written and verbal language to explain, persuade and advise.

You should be able to discuss themes surrounding budget, timings and risks confidently, both with the team internally and with the client. You’ll be confident using technical terminology and phrasing and it’s important that you explain things in as simple terms as possible.

Team player

The best Project Managers aren’t heroes. As Senior Project Manager you should proudly put your team first and facilitate plans and processes that get the very best from those around you. Being flexible, caring and committed will be second nature to you.

This will be essential at points of difficulty or if the project faces a challenge - you’ll need to calmly and positively find solutions and support the project team to mitigate the risks and move forward.

Attention to detail

You’ll need a keen eye for detail and a thorough approach when it comes to producing everything from status reports to website testing. You’ll pride yourself on the quality of the project’s outputs, from wireframes to specification documentations and training guides; nothing will be sent out without your approval.

Technical expertise

A working knowledge of web technologies and performance marketing (PPC and SEO) would be beneficial and whilst you won’t be coding (we have in-house developers for that!), you will need to relay complex information between our team and clients.

You should be comfortable discussing technical concepts and solutions, able to distill requirements into business or user needs. You’ll be familiar with acronyms from CRM, CMS and DNS and confident using these in context.

Prioritisation & planning

It will be essential for you to prioritise your own workload and to manage client and team expectations.

You’ll maintain a detailed view of the project at hand, which will enable you to spot risks, issues and opportunities and plan mitigating actions, as well as keeping the wider team up to date with progress.

Passion & enthusiasm

Your passion for digital and project delivery will give you the power to influence your team and foster thriving client relationships. It’s important to us that you love what you do, and this will shine through with the energy and enthusiasm that you bring to the role.
