Announcing our new Elympics charities
Roughly a 3 minute read by Simon
As we enter the fourth year of our Elympics campaign, we’ve freshened things up a bit by selecting two new worthy causes. As always, our aim when selecting new charities is to choose those where every penny raised goes towards making a big difference.
So, without further ado, we’re pleased to announce that our two new 2019 charities are St. George’s Crypt and Sunshine & Smiles! We can’t wait to get started with our new found partnerships and you can find out a little more about them below.
St George’s Crypt
St George’s Crypt, based within the City of Leeds, work closely with the homeless, the vulnerable, and those who may be afflicted with addiction. They’re a compassionate group who really aim to transform lives, helping people get back on their feet.
At the time of writing, St. George’s Crypt has served an estimated 1.2 million meals and provided nearly 250 thousand beds since opening their doors way back in 1930 (that’s over 80 years of operating)!
Open 365 days a year, they always aim to help and provide support where they can.

Sunshine & Smiles
Sunshine & Smiles, the Leeds Down Syndrome Network, provides a support network for children and young people who have Down syndrome, and support for their families too. The network is parent-led and is overseen by a team of just four trustees.
Offering speech and language therapy, regular group sessions and activities, individual support, and providing a support network for families are just a few of the services Sunshine & Smiles are proud to offer. Another fundamental part of the charity is raising awareness and challenging preconceptions in the wider community.
Being a small and local, they really do rely on donations to ensure that the support network continues to be sustainable in the long term. This can be money, or even just volunteering your time - it all helps.

Let’s not forget our other wonderful charities…
With us for our fourth year, we’ll continue to work with both CATCH and Open Country. We’ve done some great work with them over the years, and it’s been a real pleasure to watch them grow as organisations, and witness first-hand the impact their work has had, and where our donations have helped.
Here’s to another successful Elympics year ahead!
