This is a full-time role based in Leeds, UK. We offer hybrid working and flexible hours to everyone in the team, but this is not a fully remote opportunity. The role will require you to work from our office in Leeds for at least 3 days each week.

What we’re looking for
As a Senior SEO Manager, you will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of SEO activity across a range of key client accounts. You’ll shape effective, insight-led strategies and oversee day-to-day delivery across technical, on-site, content, outreach, and digital PR. You’ll also support the development of SEO Managers and Executives in the team and collaborate with other departments to ensure SEO is integrated into wider agency projects.
This is a key opportunity for someone looking to step into a more senior, strategic role within a fast-paced and collaborative agency environment. The Senior SEO Manager will play an important part in developing our SEO service - from how we approach complex web-builds and content strategies to how we evolve our tools and ways of working.
The role offers the chance to gain leadership experience, work on large-scale and high-impact digital projects, and shape how clients understand and invest in organic search. The Senior Manager will be working closely with the Head of SEO and senior leadership, helping to define and drive the future direction of the department.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting
- Responsibility for client reporting in-line with our SLAs
- Support with the SEO reporting as part of an integrated reporting solution across all performance marketing channels. Ensure that completed reports are aligned with client objectives/metrics and in-line with performance related contracts.
- Create efficiencies by automating tasks where possible so that you can spend more time driving insight and value for clients.
- Development of bespoke organic reporting solutions for clients when required.
- Add organic insights into monthly Reporting Dashboards (Looker Studio) regarding previous months performance and adapt future activity based on performance against client objectives and KPIs.
Tools
- Provide recommendations around the existing toolset to help increase the value the team can drive for existing and new clients.
- Knowledge of using the following tools:
- SEMRush
- Ahrefs
- Screaming Frog
- Google Search Console
- Google Analytics 4
- Google Looker Studio
- Google Tag Manager (Desirable)
- AWR Cloud (Desirable)
Strategy
- Develop tailored SEO strategies for clients, across technical, on-site, content marketing, outreach, local SEO, multilingual SEO and digital PR.
- Take a strategic role during web-builds and migrations, working collaboratively with design, development and project management teams.
- Contribute to performance testing, accessibility auditing and content inclusion during new site launches and rebuilds.
- Support the Head of SEO in evolving the SEO service and aligning it with wider agency capabilities.
- Ensure all SEO clients have an active roadmap in place, with activity aligned to business objectives and tracked via measurable KPIs.
- Embed SEO considerations across all projects delivered within the agency, through collaboration with other departments.
- Communicate SEO strategies and performance clearly to clients, including how activity aligns with broader marketing goals.
- Identify and support cross-departmental opportunities that can help increase client value and campaign impact.
New Business
- Support the business development team by developing and qualifying new business prospects.
- Feed into new business decks, providing an overview of the service to initiate new business conversations.
- Represent SEO in qualified new business activities when asked.
- Help develop initiatives to support the growth of the SEO department: industry reports, metrics database, case studies, testimonials.
- Participation in pitch presentations when asked to support from an SEO perspective.
Process
- Propose new processes to help improve SEO efficiencies for different projects and retainer types.
- Work with the rest of the SEO team to make the agency aware of the latest SEO updates and include the positive results achieved for our clients.
- Support other team members to update process documentation, and templates to help improve efficiencies.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies through reporting automation, reporting templates or the development of AI tools.
- Ownership of frameworks and the development of new frameworks to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective SEO projects
