The brief
We worked with Whitbread’s Beefeater Grill to put together a lovable application to promote their latest link up with the Mr. Men & Little Miss brand. Taking these iconic characters, we developed Family Portraits – a place where you can finally give your sister the title of Little Miss Naughty for smashing up your Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures all those years ago!
How it came together
The app allowed visitors to build their own family portrait by choosing one of the many Mr Men characters to represent each member of the family. Once they’d settled on who really was Mr. Greedy and Little Miss Stubborn they could then export their masterpiece as an image for framing, or even set it as their Facebook cover photo.
A few lucky winners even managed to get their finished portrait signed by Roger Hargreaves himself, the creator of the Mr Men.

The campaign picked up Best Use of Digital Marketing, Best Use of Social Media and the much coveted judges’ Grand Prix Award as the best campaign of the year in the Big Chip Awards.

Planning for the future
Considering how timeless the Mr Men characters are, it was important to ensure Family Portraits was built to stand the test of time. We therefore built a completely flexible UI and asset library allowing us to re-purpose the app throughout the year.
