Impact Awards

Our Superstars platform has made it to the final of the 2022 Impact Awards! We’re thrilled to have made it this far and we’re incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication that our team has put into developing Superstars over the years.

Now, we’re not going to lie, the competition is pretty tough this year. We’re up against some big names, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Tech She Can. But we’re not going to let that get us down. We know that Superstars is an amazing platform that has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of young people who attend CATCH Leeds, and we’re confident that the judges will see that too.

Speaking of CATCH, we want to give a big shoutout to their amazing team who have been working alongside us to develop Superstars. It’s been a real team effort, and we couldn’t have done it without them.

Of course, we wouldn’t say no to a little bit of luck on the night of the awards ceremony 😉. So, good luck to everyone who has made it to the final, but slightly more luck to us, please! We’re keeping our fingers crossed and we’ll be sure to let you all know how we get on.

The awards aim to showcase how digital technology can be used to drive social impact and improve people’s lives. Each year, the entries are judged by a panel of experts who are looking for projects that have made a real difference in their respective fields.

…and what is the Superstars app?

Catch Leeds came to us with a challenge: to get young people to feel more motivated in their volunteer projects. They asked if we could use what they love most(ish) to engage them more. Their phones.

We spent 100s of hours working with the team at CATCH until we cracked it; A bespoke volunteering app. Designed in collaboration with the volunteers, for the volunteers. And named after them too; “Superstars”.

The app allows them to see the impact of their volunteering efforts. They can see the life skills they are learning and track their competency. So far, over 55 kids have used the app, and they’ve completed 17,810 volunteering hours. And counting…
