Wet, Set, Dash! Engage takes on the Leeds Abbey Dash
Roughly a 2 minute read by Tom
It was a wet and wild Sunday morning, but that didn’t stop the Engage team from taking on the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k for the almost 10th year in a row! Despite the rain, this year’s turnout was the biggest yet, and we managed to raise over £500 for Sunshine and Smiles - Leeds Down Syndrome Network, a fantastic achievement.
The Abbey Dash is a staple event in the Leeds running calendar, and for good reason. The flat course takes runners past some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Kirkstall Abbey and Leeds Minster, before finishing in the heart of the city centre.
While the weather wasn’t on our side this year, the team’s spirits were still high. It was great to see everyone come together and support each other through the rain and puddles. Special kudos goes to Ade Lingard, who topped the leaderboard with an impressive time of 45m 19s. Age is just a number, right?
All in all, it was another successful year for Engage Interactive at the Leeds Abbey Dash. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event, rain or shine!
